What Song Is That? DJAY.ca Adds Real-Time Track & Artist Streaming, Mobile Tap Tooltips, and Bluetooth Lockscreen Sync to the Live Radio Experience

There is nothing quite like stumbling upon an incredible new track while exploring internet radio. But there is also nothing more frustrating than scrambling to identify that infectious groove while the player merely says "Playing Live".

Today, we are thrilled to roll out the latest feature for DJAY.ca: Real-Time Live Song & Track Metadata Streaming! Whether you are locked into a curated underground electronic broadcast or exploring over 35,000+ worldwide stations in Global Discovery, our persistent luxury audio dock now extracts and displays the live track title and artist name in real time.

What's New in the Live Listening Experience?

Here is how the new live track engine elevates your listening on DJAY.ca:

• Live Song & Artist Display (🎵 Artist - Title): Whenever an on-air radio broadcast streams metadata, the player subtitle dynamically shifts from a generic status to the actual song and artist currently playing, accompanied by an animated pulsating musical note.
• Interactive Mobile Song Toast (#rp-track-toast): Long track titles on mobile screens can easily get clipped. On smartphones and touchscreens, simply tap the station subtitle to summon a sleek, glassmorphic floating toast notification displaying the full, untruncated song and artist title.
• Desktop Fluid Clamping: On desktop displays, the docking bar dynamically adapts (max-width: clamp(240px, 28vw, 480px)) with smooth ellipsis truncation, giving you plenty of room to read extended remix titles and collaborations without crowding your playback controls.
• Zero-Glitch Asynchronous Audio Proxying: Extracting live stream metadata directly in standard browser audio players often results in loud digital clicks and playback stutter. Our custom Cloudflare Worker proxy isolates metadata fetching onto a dedicated asynchronous channel, keeping your audio stream 100% pristine and uninterrupted.
• Lockscreen, Apple Watch & Bluetooth Car Dashboard Sync: Powered by the Media Session API, live song titles and artist credits sync directly with your operating system's lockscreen widgets, smartwatch notifications, and in-vehicle Bluetooth audio dashboards.
• Battery & Data Conscious: The player polls for track updates every 22 seconds while active. The moment you pause the stream or switch stations, all background requests and timers are immediately canceled to conserve mobile battery and data.

Looking Ahead: "Find / Buy This Track" Engine (Phase 4)

Live song metadata is just the beginning of our audio roadmap! With real-time artist and track data now streaming smoothly into the client, we are actively developing our Phase 4 Platform Link Engine.

Soon, listening to an unreleased club cut or ambient masterpiece on DJAY.ca will grant you 1-click deep links to search and purchase the track on Apple Music, Spotify, Beatport, Discogs, Bandcamp, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music. Supporting independent stations, artists, and record labels has never been easier.
